Winter Wedding at The Green Building.

This wedding was so special to me because the couple (Adrielle and George) are long time friends of my husband and I. Not only did I do the flowers, but, I got to party all night long and enjoy the whole kit and caboodle! This wedding was also shot by another one of our good friends. Matt Miller of Our Labor of Love! His wife and I have been friends for more than a decade. Crazy small world right?! Enjoy!!!

Steampunk inspired, fall wedding in Brooklyn!

With fall approaching, I wanted to dig up one of my favorite weddings from last fall that took place at the Prospect Park Boathouse. I was thrilled to hear from this "off beat" sort of bride. She was looking to me to conjure up some super interesting elements for her fall wedding that incorporated a vintage and steampunk elements. 

To start the bride wanted to make sure of two things. 1.) use lot's of orange. and 2.) use dried chinese lanterns. The task was on! For the centerpieces, we decided to use my serpentine vases that snaked in a semi circle on the tables that have a combination of chinese lanterns and fiddle head ferns. On either side of the serpentine snake, we had a mini bronze urns that had deep red Black Baccara roses, orange protea, scabiosa pods, dahlias, and berries. We chose a finely woven jute table cloth to neutralize the bright oranges, but, keep it warm.

The brides bouquet was one of my favorites. We went with a super rich and over saturated color pallet to contrast her gorgeous vintage inspired lace dress. Her girls were in gorgeous lace and copper satin dresses and also held a rich, autumnal bouquet of flowers. 

Her card table was super fun! We decided to use my vintage tool organizer for the card table display. Each of us spent time collecting old clock keys that became the anchor for the name tags created by the super talented Ruth Irving of Papertopias. Each key was nestled in a cubby hole, resting on top of a vintage napkin. Next to the tool organizer was my gorgeous vintage type writer from the 1920's that was used as the guest book. The paper was also hand crafted by Ruth Irving to feature a customized monogram to signify their special day.

Wedding at The Foundry, L.I.C. by Rebecca Shepherd floral design

This wedding took place on September 9th, one of the most gorgeous days of the year. This was also one of my favorite weddings this year to design. We kept is sophisticated and modern with a touch of glam-goth! We used David Austin patience garden roses, bells of Ireland, black star callas, red ranunculus, cymbidium orchids, chocolate cosmos, and the exquisite Tacca orchids for the over the top dramamarama additive. These are by far the most unusual orchids I have even encountered. We used them in special places like the bridal bouquet, the cake table, and scattered on the long table.  Another one of my favorite touches were the mixed silver and gold chairs and silverware. Summer wedding in Brooklyn.

This wedding was all about bright, bold, happy colors. The bride and groom wanted "the unexpected" at their wedding! We used chocolate cosmo's, bright red dahlias, white and tan scabiosa, tansy, gomphrena, pannisetum, panicum, raspberries, and more! Perfect for a summer wedding.... Dramatic flowers for a NYC elopement.

I am so honored to have been part of this very small wedding that took place on July 7th in NYC. An age old friend looked me up to see I would be able to whip together a few flowers for their fashion forward (with a dark twist) wedding. More photos to come of the doggy flowers! Montauk Club wedding flowers. Pink and chocolate!

This wedding took place on June 11th at the gorgeous Montauk Club in park slope Brooklyn. This venue as some of you know, it one of my fav's. Stained glass, gorgeous wood, and beautiful back drop for outdoor photos.
The bride wanted everything in shades of pink, chocolate, whites and greens. We used hydrangea, peony, freesia, burgundy scabiosa, lisianthus, spray rose geranium and more.

Spring wedding at the Green Building in Brooklyn.

This wedding took place on April 8th, 2012 at the lovely Green Building in Brooklyn. The couple was incredibly creative and did so much work leading up to their big day. They designed little figurines which represented themselves at a rabbit and a monkey (: Of course, we may boutonnieres out of them! The tables were all long and the food was served buffet style by Frankie 457. (LOVE) The couple supplied me with a hefty bag full of little chochques, toys, figurines, and even a green stuffed bear. We used an assortment of containers including white milk bottles, vintage and new clear glass and mixed some quintessential spring flowers like tulips, vibrunum, narcissus, and chamomile. Overall the flowers were VERY simple, clean, and crisp. The most fun we adding in all the little fun toys into the table scape which sort of made them come alive (: You can see more on my floral Facebook page HERE.
