This wedding took place on June 11th at the gorgeous Montauk Club in park slope Brooklyn. This venue as some of you know, it one of my fav's. Stained glass, gorgeous wood, and beautiful back drop for outdoor photos.
The bride wanted everything in shades of pink, chocolate, whites and greens. We used hydrangea, peony, freesia, burgundy scabiosa, lisianthus, spray rose geranium and more.

Brooklyn wedding at Galapagos Art Space.
I hardly know where to start with these two.... Jackie and Michael were one of the most laid back, sweet, and stylish couple! They approached Brooklyn Betrothed as a whole; and pretty much booked us all from the flowers, the efficient, make up, photographer, and paper products. Oh! and did I mention she commissioned me for jewelry for um.... 10 people in her bridal party/family members!!!! I'll get more pictures of the jewels soon. I missed the opening of the little boxes the night before when she gave them to all her bridesmaids, but, Kristina was shooting the whole thing and said is was a total frenzy of super excited girls (: LOVE IT.
Jackie and Michael told me three things leading up to their designs:
*We want warm colors.
*We love lots of texture with the possibility of weird elements (succulents/poppy seeds/artichokes was my interpretation)
*We love orchids and callas.
I can't express how important it is when a couple gives you creative control like this. This approach encourages my best work. I loved this wedding almost as much as the couple.
At the end of the day, Jackie and Michael invited us Brooklyn Betrothed gals to ATTEND their cocktail hour and ceremony. This was one of the kindest gestures one can show.... I spent the afternoon setting up the venue making sure everything as perfect as can be. Then, did a quick change in the bathroom to shed my uniform (jeans, docs, bandana and pencil behind my ear) and slipped on a simple black dress. I went upstairs to the balcony to hide in the dark and watch the ceremony with tears in my eyes as I listened to some of the sweetest and loving words not only to each other, but to the families and past relatives. It's magical to be able to see everything all together... bride and groom, families and the room twinkling with candlelight.....

Earthy wedding at Prospect Park Picnic House.
The sweetest bride (and neighbor) contacted me a few months before her wedding on Sunday, June 17th, (Father's Day!) She wanted a relaxed, herbal, mix of white, lavender, and chartreuse greens. We used a mixed bottle arrangements for some of the tables using hydrangea, coxcomb, dahlias, kangaroo paws, astilbe, and scabiosa. For the ceremony, we used mom's vintage lace table cloth and a family tallis. See more image from this wedding on my floral Facebook page HERE

Brooklyn Botanic Garden wedding/summer!
This May 5th wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, was chock-full of bright colors including reds, peaches, pinks and greens. PERFECT for the impending warmth that is now here to stay for the summer. The centerpieces were made up of red charm peonies, pink ranunculus, goditia, red tulips, peach hypericum berries, lisianthus, dusty miller, peach amaryllis, geranium and jasmine. Each centerpiece was placed on top of the couples sci-fi books (part of their theme) as well as on top a bunch of criss crossed ribbons. The card table was a structure of birch poles with rows and rows of lace, bakers twine, peach and red ribbons to hang the escort cards from. We had lots of fun chochques for the card table including mini bell jars with little ranunculus, berries and jasmine tin-a-le (new word) arranged inside (:
The ceremony was in the breath-taking blue bell field which is a dream come true for any bride to have in full bloom on her wedding day. See more pictures from this wedding on my floral Facebook page HERE!

Deep purple wedding in NYC!
This was an April 28th wedding at the Midtown Loft in NYC. The couple want a mixture of modern, sleek, and unusual flowers. We used bell jars with lush vanda orchids and ferns on some tables and my serpentine vases on other tables. The blooms included black star callas, bear grass, picasa callas, orchids, and protea. Enjoy! See more on my floral Facebook page HERE!
